Florascopic 2

Transforming images of flowers and plants found in the urban environment into striking kaleidoscopic images.

The source for my inspiration comes from a combined love of flowers, plants, travel and architecture.  Having spent many years traveling the world, meandering through, and discovering the streets and gardens of San Francisco, New York and London.

These images explore Melbourne and Brisbane (my home town), as well as taking a close look at plants and urban textures in the Boroondara area where I now reside.

The work speaks to the importance of nature in a modern urban environment and contains influences from my childhood and family heritage along with influences from nature, architecture (an architect’s daughter) and indeed my travels.

This series of work was awarded an exhibition at the Hawthorn Gallery as part of the community wall program.
